Ordered a few times from here and said I’d give them one last go after a few mishaps along the way. Last time they forgot to include my garlic mushrooms… read more to the order and when I contacted them to tell them this the girl that answered the phone apologised and said they’d credit me the price I paid for the order, I never received the refund.
Anyway fast forward to this evening, was told 25mins to collect order, order was late and wasn’t ready for 45 mins. Collected order and queried over the phone what looked like jam that was included in the order, previous to that garlic dip was sent with the order. Asked why the jamlooking dip was sent with the garlic mushrooms and was told after the girl on the phone asked the chef that it was to go with the mushrooms, would’ve assumed you’d get a garlic dip instead of the "jam". Asked about garlic sauce and the girl hung up the phone on me , well done on the customer service by the way. My main problem is I was charged €44.85 for a phone in order when it would’ve cost me €35.15 to order online. Maybe someone from Empoli could explain this. Good luck to ye Empoli as food was actually OK, its your service that’s the big letdown for me.
Picture of the jam looking dip, and two different prices receipt and online price. Have blocked out servers name .

It did NOT start well! We had made a reservation but that wasnt really necessary as we were told to sit anywhere when we arrived at 7pm to a virtually… read more empty dark, seen better days room. I would expect of an ‘Italian/Mediterranean’ restaurant that the tables would be dressed nicely, for me the ‘no tablecloths and tables that have seen better days’ look wasn’t a great start, plus our table wasn’t properly cleaned, but hey, maybe that’s the look they were going for.
But bearing in mind that the position of the restaurant is not attractive, overlooking an unattractive shopping plaza & car-park and looking right into private apartments, you would expect that they would make a better effort to dress the restaurant up a bit and at least have some tablecloths and decent tableware and napkins. Anyway, we were greeted by a charming and attentive waitress who was all smiles and to be honest was the best part of the whole place, however, we were not offered any nibbles such as olives/breadsticks on the table whilst we read our menus, which would be standard in a PROPER mediterranean restaurant. Starters were adequate, not earth shattering but nothing wrong with them to be fair, but I doubt the ‘home-made’ bread claim that my bruschetta was supposed to have been made from, very much. We asked for wine and I asked for water for the table, I was brought 1 glass of water, we were a party of 4!
Main courses? I must echo a previous reviewer, my Tortollini was stodgy, the cheese was minced to within an inch of it’s life and managed to be dry in a sea of sickly sweet sauce, and I could detect no spinach, the sauce resembled, and I suspect was, a well known can of tomato soup, far too sweet, and the whole enourmous dish of it had been microwaved to death. I was offered parmesan, which was the dried dust version in a shaker, not a nice lump of the real deal, I was shocked! My partner’s sea bass was completely overcooked, and his chips (frozen, not pleasant) were late. Our friends both had a middle eastern chicken skewer dish, which was pleasant, and they both enjoyed that. I braved a dessert, mainly because I could not stomach any more of the tomato soup/sauce and was still hungry, and asked for the ice cream with espresso. The ice cream was (by this stage not surpisingly!) cheap, more ice than cream in fact full of lumps of ice, usually a sign of either REALLY poor quality product or refrozen following a thaw! However mixing the espresso with it rescued it somewhat, making it a lukewarm iced coffee, which was not entirely unpleasant. The only Italian dessert on the menu was Tiramisu, which was not available!
A bizzare note, they were adviertising for a delivery driver and a well dressed lady in heels who looked like the proprietor was doing all the ‘Just Eat’ deliveries, I found it VERY distracting!
I would LOVE to like this local restaurant, if for no other reason than that the waitress was a joy and her service was excellent, despite her not being given a chance with such poor fare on offer. Sadly I would really NOT recommend it’s food or ambience and would recommend that they employ a new designer, a new chef and a new food supplier, but keep the charming waitress at all costs, she is a diamond.

Had a lovely meal here Easter Saturday night. We’ve been here several times over the last few years and always consider it our favourite local as it’s cosy with ambience.… read more For starters, warm goats cheese salad and caprese salad. Mains, my partner had a well presented chicken and rice dish whilst I had the sea bass- 2 beautifully cooked sea bass with a lemon sauce and vegetables. Washed down with a bottle of Montepulciano.. we went home happy. A hidden gem in Swords.
